Read MoreThe Treasury and IRS have released their 2023-2024 Priority Guidance Plan. The plan continues to prioritize taxpayer engagement with the Treasury Department and the Service through a variety ofchannels, consistent with the directive of the Taxpayer First Act, (P.L. 116-25). Further, the plan contains guidance projects spread over a twelve-month period from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. The 2023-2024 Priority Guidance Plan contains 237 guidance projects, for which 9 items had been released as of August 31, 2023. In addition to the projects on the 2023-2024 plan, the Appendix lists routine or ministerial guidance that is generally published each year. The IRS intends to update the plan periodically to consider comments received from taxpayers and tax practitioners relating to additional projects and to respond to developments arising during the plan year.
